Honoring the 125th Anniversary of “Daddy King”

Today, we honor the 125th anniversary of Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr.—affectionately known as “Daddy King”—born on December 19, 1899, in Stockbridge, Georgia.  Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr. was the 3rd , Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Under the mentorship of his predecessor, Rev. A.D. Williams, Rev. King, Sr. developed his commitment to the social gospel—a belief that faith must address community challenges like education, financial security, health disparities, and justice.

It is this legacy that inspires the mission of the Martin Luther King, Sr. Community Resources Collaborative. We continue to serve underserved communities through programs such as:

• Life Skills & Enrichment Coaching

• Workforce Readiness, Training & Placement

• Emergency Services (utilities, rent, etc.)

• GED Preparation & Testing

• Medicaid, TANF & Food Stamp Applications

• Volunteer Tax Assistance (VITA)

• GA Indigent ID Program
